We can see the idea of huge magazines such as "Vogue Magazine" as an magazine that would never go out of style. But the role of social media and how as the generation of 2020 have such an easy way to access information from the palm of their hands it can come into questioning are paperback magazines out of style?
According to "The Guardian" there has been recent debates about fashion publishing in the digital age. Catwalk shows used to be held twice a year for a closed shop of editors and buyers , who would reveal their carefully considered vision of trends to readers and consumers a few months down the line. Now runway shows are live-streamed and consumers can order the clothes as soon as they have appeared. The glossy magazine doesn't have the power it once did. While Vogue transports the reader to a fantasy world of high fashion - it is similar to watching a film that offers an escape from the everyday.
In my opinion , since the COVID-19 pandemic there has been an surge on the idea that we as individuals have become very dependent on the idea of technology.
Technology provides numerous amount of advances that were not or could not been seen from before. But as we continue with younger generations and also with technological advances there is an huge chance that magazines and newspapers as we once have known them would be completely non-existent. Welcome to the newest norm of fashion.
